Course Description
This is the only department of its kind in South Africa where all the technical aspects of the entertainment industry may be studied up to a doctorate level. Lighting, sound, properties, make-up, décor painting, costumes, textile design and stage technology are taught in this programme.
The backstage world of entertainment offers a broad spectrum of job and career opportunities. This could vary from indoor theatres to TV; film productions; radio commercials and industrial theatre; promotions for new products; corporate services and large outdoor concerts by overseas artists; and art festivals.
