The main responsibility of train control officers is to control the running of trains on an allocated section of track.
The train control officer's duties include: recording arrival and departure times of trains from stations; and using various control systems.
At smaller stations train control officers usually have to perform a larger range of tasks, such as selling tickets and the receiving and storing of light goods and parcels.

A train control officer should:
